PROBLEM ANALYSIS
1. What is worrying here is,
sexual harassment is a silent crime that can happen anywhere.
2. The scope of sexual harassment
does not only limit to the workplace but also in public such as public
transportations, public parks, restaurants, and supermarkets. This is because
sexual harassment does not have any solid medium like the other crime and
harassment.
3. These four factors usually can
be detected in our workplace: For example, our colleagues can sexually
harass us by doing verbal sexual harassment. Our colleagues can say words that make us
sexually unsafe such as mentioning the private part of our body. They also can
do non-verbal sexual harassment by looking into the private parts of one’s
body with a lustful look.
4. Sexual harassment also can occur on rank factors in the workplace. For example, among the boss and the workers. This is an example of an unprofessional workplace.
5. Regarding job status, it is hypothesized that women employees who hold lower positions with less power and authority are more likely to experience sexual harassment.
6. Women who are physically attractive will be more likely to experience sexual harassment compared to those who are less attractive.
7. Hence the absence of good values could be a contributory factor to sexual harassment.
8. Certain male workers would thus be tempted to establish social or sexual relationships with their female co-workers or give unwanted sexual attention.
9. Sexual harassment does not have any solid medium like the other crime and harassment.
10. An individual with low moral values may not regard harassment as seriously wrong or immoral, and thus feels uninhibited from sexually harassing someone else.
